ETMA Mentor/Mentee Program Background

ETMA identified a gap in professional development opportunities for emerging leaders within our member community. Existing programs were often narrowly focused, limited by restrictive eligibility requirements, and costly to participate in. To address this need, the ETMA Board created a mentorship program designed to leverage the expertise and experience of our executive members, providing guidance across the diverse disciplines and verticals represented within the association.

The program was established with three primary objectives

  • Support career growth and professional skill development through meaningful mentorship and guidance from experienced industry leaders.
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and personal development.
  • Deliver additional value to the ETMA membership by providing access to mentorship, networking, and leadership development opportunities.

Program Overview

The ETMA Mentor/Mentee Program is provided for professional development and networking purposes. ETMA, its board members, employees, volunteers, mentors, and member companies make no representations or warranties regarding the outcomes of participation in this program. ETMA is not responsible for any professional, financial, personal, or career decisions made by participants as a result of mentorship guidance received through this program. Participation is voluntary and at the sole discretion and risk of each individual participant.

The Orientation and Matching Process includes a survey that collects categories of interest for participants. LinkedIn profiles will also be viewed to help gather additional information.

Nothing communicated during the ETMA Mentor/Mentee Program, including guidance provided by mentors, constitutes legal, financial, medical, psychological, or human resources advice. Participants should consult qualified licensed professionals for advice specific to their individual circumstances. ETMA mentors are sharing personal experience and perspective only and are not acting in any licensed professional capacity.

Independent Relationship

Participation in the ETMA Mentor/Mentee Program does not create an employment relationship, agency relationship, partnership, joint venture, or fiduciary duty between ETMA, its member companies, mentors, or mentees. Mentors participate as volunteers and are not acting as agents or representatives of ETMA. Nothing in this program or handbook shall be construed to create any obligation on the part of ETMA beyond the facilitation of introductions and program administration.

Who Can Participate?

Mentors must work for an ETMA member company and Mentees should either be affiliated with an ETMA member company or nominated by someone who works for an ETMA member company.

The intended audience for this program is professionals within the information technology and services industry.

By registering for the ETMA Mentor/Mentee Program, participants consent to the collection and use of personal information — including name, employer, job title, areas of professional interest, and publicly available LinkedIn profile information. This information is solely for the purpose of program administration and mentor/mentee matching. ETMA will not sell, rent, or share participant data with third parties outside of ETMA member administration without consent, except as required by law. Participants may request the removal of their information from ETMA’s records at any time by contacting the ETMA Program Board. Data is retained only for the duration of the program unless the participant consents to continued use for future program cycles.

ETMA is not charging a fee nor are they collecting money from mentees to be in the program.
