One of the world’s leading restaurant companies who own, operate or franchise restaurants globally in search of a way to best manage protecting their tablets as they planned to rollout a nationwide point of sale and service wireless solution.

Challenges

The tables are used by wait staff and subject to loss, theft and breakage due to high use. In addition, it was challenging for the company to adequately manage the life-cycle and supply chain of their pool of tablets. While the restaurant company had already made the decision to utilize a Managed Service Company to help with fulfillment, the Managed Service Company could not provide protection for the tablets once they were deployed.

Solution

Through a partnership with the Managed Service Company Cell Brokerage was able to provide a custom insurance solution specifically designed to support Enterprise/B2B companies that are interested in protecting their devices with an end-to-end process/solution. That process includes working with the Managed Service and Supply Chain Vendor to better manage the device supply chain as well as a seamless repair and replace solution.

Results

The restaurant customer has implemented a tablet protection solution that has enabled them to best support their restaurant locations by mitigating service interruptions, decreasing repair/replacement costs and increasing their supply chain efficiencies year over year.  The partnership between Cell Brokerage and the Managed Service company has not only provided another needed service/solution that the Managed Service company can offer to their Enterprise/B2B customers, but also provide an incremental source of revenue for their business.

Lessons Learned

The restaurant company now has transparency and insights into the device’s loss ratios and profitability allowing them to better manage their supply chain budget and effectiveness.  Also, the Managed Service company now has a new service/solution that they can implement with other customers which will help strengthen their relationships.
