Rebranding Reflects Market Changes
TEMIA, the Technology Expense Management Industry Association, has announced it has changed its name to ETMA, the Enterprise Technology Management Association. The name change reflects migration of TEM and MMS Solutions Providers as they expand their offerings to broader areas of concern by CIO’s, IT teams and the overall enterprise into management and reporting on technology.
While the name is changing, ETMA’s mission and focus will continue as an independent non-profit industry association with priorities set by Solutions Providers. ETMA’s ongoing mission is to raise awareness of the industry and its value, improve the quality and delivery of solutions while promoting best practices and industry standards among its members and enterprises.
Since it was founded 12 years ago, the organization has followed core values which include idea exchange, peer learning and networking. ETMA takes on issues which are best addressed by an industry association made up of the top firms in the industry. For example, ETMA members subscribe to an Ethics Code, which clearly establishes standards and differentiates their level of commitment to their clients.
In addition to its core audience of Solutions Providers, the association seeks to educate and assist enterprises through free access to valuable information like its RFP template, Inventory Standards and other materials. New initiatives from ETMA will help enterprises navigate the complex market with valuable information to reduce the time that it takes to assess the best Solutions Providers for the needs of enterprises.
Mark Hearn, President of Network Control and ETMA President said, “The name change represents the start of a bigger initiative to become a key resource for organizations to understand the industry, Solutions Providers and how to drive value back to their organization. I see this as ultimately revolving around better cost reduction, inventory management and reporting analytics while educating the enterprise with their free and yet valuable information to assist them in their process of seeking the best solutions provider for their company.”
Jane Sydlowski, President of AMI Strategies and ETMA Board Member said, “Our new name opens the door to recreate ourselves, increase our relevance and encourage innovation during this technology disruption era.”
David Sonenstein, Executive Director of Ezwim, and ETMA Board Member said, “As a non-profit, ETMA is a terrific alternative for executives in this market to collaborate and share best practices. All the proceeds go right into our content and activities. That is probably why so many of our members, who are the leaders of their own companies, do not hesitate to volunteer an impressive amount of their time to participate in our conferences, committees, and content projects.”
Joe Basili, Managing Director of ETMA said, “The name change is the next step and a natural fit for our new direction. ETMA is poised to build upon past success balancing growth with members who serve new technology areas while continuing to focus on core areas of TEM and MMS. I continue to be excited by the power of collaboration with members who come together to shape the industry in positive ways for the betterment of clients.
